savemoney he does not wear a vest. He's on a GPS Collar and I don't let him more than 50yds away. He's not hunting....purely sniffing out a blood trail that is less than perfect for eyeball tracking. I'll add more later. Deer camp and beer call.

Its huge business here in Wisconsin. In 2013, just deer hunting brought in 1.3 billion to the state. We even hunt on Sundays here ;)

Deer won't get worn out by a small dog. The deer will kick or charge a dog. Lies like that are what propagates peoples dogs getting shot by idiots that believe that.

Folks, stop the dog shooting talk. Legal or not where you are, nobody wants to hear it.

Well Seasoned I had maple in my thoughts as we ran that bloodline today. Glad all went well.

Most any deer will leave any dog in short time, even young, big, healthy, active dogs...it's no contest.

We were hoping for a call at 8 this morning, like yesterday morning. No call, so I called at 815:Dand asked when Maple will get discharged. The nurse said they are making their rounds and theyll probaly call within the hour so it wont be long now!

We cleaned up everything, made it as comfortable as possible.

    Maple is home!!

She is still a little out of it, but thats expected. Medication management will be a bit of a challenge, but we're working this out. Pain meds and antibiotics twice a day, prescription food 3x a day, and another medication slurry to coat the stomach and intestine that needs to be seperated from food for at least an hour every 8 hours. Her bladder is weak, has already had 2 accidents in the house, and went outside which Dawn read can be normal after a spaying, but im a little optimistic about this. We are hoping for a bowel movement today, she did eat. She does have a cone which is off while she lays down and will be put back on her when she wakes up. We aren't letting her out of our sight until the sutures are removed in another 9 days. Dawn and I have coordinated monday and tuesday off and worked out our lunch breaks wednesday on if Maple seems ok enough. The hospital bill ended up being a thousand less than expected, so we feel blessed in that sense! Thanks again for the prayers, kind words, and thoughts that definitely helped us through this scary and stressful time!

One things she does to my son Matthew, Dawn, & myself is, Maple wakes up first, comes to our bed or Matts and gets within inches to your face and just stares. When one of us wakes up, its kinda weird. Matt said it was very freaky the first time.

Right where I want to be.
It's the drugs, and she's still in pain.
    Disoriented.
Now that she's home, things should be better. She's got that "Ahhhhh, I'm home" , but why do I feel so weird, look.

Well Seasoned , yes, after getting spayed, females do occasionally have piddle accidents for a little bit.

Poor thing, doesn't have a clue what has happened to her. She knows she hurts, and things just ain't right. The anesthesia can raise dickens for a few days. It takes a while to clear the system. How is the other dog reacting to her?

Saucy was behind gate laying in his bed when we arrived home, and stayed there for the first half hour. We let him out and he simply sniffed his heart out. He knows something is different with her, tried the get down low play stance, but she wanted nothing to do with playing, so he backed off on his own.
