Nope pretty much how I looked back in the 70's.. To me an old hippie would have long gray hair, headband etc.. Not a pretty sight lol..

Just watched the video again; starting to grow on me. Would love to have that air control on my Fireview; I need to come up with some kind of device that allows me to go to the same air setting without looking at the markings. Looking forward to seeing beta tester feedback and the final configuration options. Just a shame I have only one chimney in the house.

Ah, that's a MidWest old hippie... Bahston.. we got more of a J Geils vibe going on.

This song is how I got the nickname. ...even though I was never in Nam.. but God bless those that were back then.

What size is the cat in the new stove, same as Fireview I'm guessing?

Generally speaking, our best setting on the Fireview is about 3/4 of the way toward 1. (Setting 0-4 on draft control.)

It may be because the draft is a bit weak in this warmer weather, but at .75 my box goes black. Right now I'm at about 1.25 and have a nice little flicker of flames going. Can't wait until below freezing to see what the little rock can do.

For sure it depends upon the install and the location and the temperature, and, etc., etc. Sometimes if the temperature is too warm we'll have to set it at 1 but rarely above 1.

Unless you want/need to see flames, isn't that a non-issue with a cat stove? Well, as long as the cat doesn't stall.

I could not do this with my old Hearthstone. The first time I did it with the Fireview I thought how cool! After a few times it becomes oh how boring! Going to save the black box low and slow burning for when I will be outside or at night. When I'm in the room, I like a few flames ... especially the slow ones that float over the wood and make all kinds of random movements.

Wait to you see the "rolling flames" light show. Sorry for the shaky video. This is me last year, learning the stove.

My high valley 2500 can make some pretty cool flames as well.
