Burning some poplar today and got the living room up to 80. Makes wearing shorts and a t-shirt really comfortable. Wife may open some windows before going to bed tonight. She likes it cool. It was 63 in the living room this morning before I got the fire going.
Outside temp now 48. Supposed low of 38 tonight. Been burning Ash and Pine through evening with basement thermostat cranked. Now turned down. Right now boiler and buffer tank up to 185. Turned off. Basement at 84! First floor at 75. Second floor-bedrooms at 69. We'll be coasting.
Frosty 34 here this morning. Had a fire yesterday (cherry, elm, oak) as wife and daughter were making sweet potato yeast rolls (Sweet Potato Rolls Recipe | Taste of Home). Let fire go out as the house reached a very warm 77 . Enjoying the cool 67 in the house this morning. Come on Mother Nature! How can I enjoy my new stove without a little help from above.
26 this am, and the house is just slightly cool feeling @ 67. 3 pine and one Maple split, with a small handful of sticks from the yard on top of leftover coals and we now have secondaries. Stove is at 450 for now. Blower at about 1/4, which is higher than normal, so I'll turn it down in a while.
26 outside with blowing wind headed to mid west. House toasty 75 still working on the ugly and shorties. would like to keep burning those until gone. they just don't look as nice in a stack.. always lodge pole pine.
Temps in the low 40's, house is still warm from last nights fire. Wind blown rain right now, tarps sides are down and tied to keep the wood stacks dry.
Thank you Gasifier, I didn't want to seem like I was fishing, but I was. I hope that doesn't make me sound bad. I'm cracking a beer. 1000 whoooo hoooo!
32* here today. Wind blowing at 30 miles an hour. Still burning the uglies. My goal is to get rid of a big pile of them this year.
