Just lit it up a couple minutes ago. One piece of ash, one cherry and a piece of oak. I guess I'll add a couple more oak splits to carry me through the morning. Not awful cold tonight in Northern kentucky, about 30 to 33. Just happy to be back on the burn again.
We've had fires on several evening but really didn't NEED them....lol We'll be needing one the next several days, and I'm happy!!
The firebox is loaded with Larch so I can get a nice overnight burn in the 27. Stove top is cruising at 675. When I'm outside I can hear the neighbors high efficiency furnace kicking on and off. Frost most mornings now.
i lit my first fire around midnight, i'm showing 39 degrees outside here in N.E. Ohio at the moment...................
Started up the stove last night. Have a larger percentage of uglies & odd sizes and shapes this year. It gets fun trying to fit as many as possible in for a load.
Well, I finally hit it lastnight, enough to get those dust bunnies burnt out, cause I figured this morning I'd want to warm up a bit. With a cup of coffee in hand it sure does feel nice....
yep......got mine stoked up, been burn'n since i lit it over 24 hours ago!!.................................
Burned a few times to break the stove in. Getting closer for the real thing. Funny, I do enjoy the stove and heat, but it is a lot of work.
Almost a month later than you up north. First fire just to take the chill out. Nice and toasty after 20 min.
Got my first fire of the season going this morning to knock the chill off. Nice heavy frost this morning. Just a few pieces of hackberry and a piece of cherry. Should last until lunchtime and I'll let it go out. They're calling for 20's this weekeend so I'm sure I'll be lighting up again soon.
