I have had a great mercury capri as a teen, and his old f250 is approaching 500K miles, original engines....

Should have been my last ride to work on cold mornings this year. Was 24* yesterday, and 25* this morning. Oh, and yesterday morning was a fine time to find out my controller for my heated gear wasn't working (geeze, only used it a couple time last year). Fortunately I know all about layering and dress to be overly warm, so I managed not to get too cold. Cleanfire claims it was nice yesterday, but by the time I got home it was about 42 (oh, and dark), so I can't vouch for the voracity of his statement

I'm hoping to leave work before the rain hits later in the afternoon. And hopefully the dang Explorer is ready for pick up tonight. Supposedly the drive shaft went back in late yesterday afternoon and they still have to finish up, align it, and do any final cleaning. The SUV won't fit in my garage, so I need to clean the junk (Patriot ) out of the yard so I have room for the Explorer and the snow this winter. Maybe my local mechanic can pick up the Patriot and tow it to his place until a tranny can be found; or maybe they can rebuild it - that is highly unlikely with the way things normally go for me though.

In actuality, I'm much more of a Dodge/Chrysler hater. I could live with a Ford if push came to shove. No can do with D/C......I deal with them both at work, and D/C are "not good".

I'm used to it, But usually the ride to the parts store or dealer. .

I may repair mine daily, But gets me where I'm going. My buddies 14 Silverado has had more trips to the dealer than the last 4 fords I've owned. The latest was just too funny, Seems someone stole his emblem to use as a panty liner(with wings!).......

My sister had a Mercury Capri too! Used to have fun working on the Capri, and her Mustang II (4 cyl. version) . f250 approaching 500K, have to happy about that, cool. The '08 Taurus here (former Livery fleet vehicle) is up to 340,000 miles, still has a ways to go.

Agreed, D/C are tough to work on - have had some experience helping neighbors out, seems there's a Specialty Service Tool required for most repairs.. If you don't have to disassemble half the vehicle, to get to the part.. Which means more SSTs. Eesh.

I see this is not a new rivalry here.. :p I'll just grab some popcorn then, and enjoy the show!

It -was- nice, if you were moving under 3 miles an hour.. :D In the sunshine, not darkness.

Give you major Props for riding the bike into work, it -has- been cold in the early AM hours here.

Welcome to the Ford Club - Hope the Ford Exploder, sorry, meant Explorer, is ready for you soon!
