Welcome! As to your saw question, if you mostly see softwood, I'd go 461 and save your back the 2+ extra lbs vs the 661. If you get into large hardwood, the 661 will shine over the 461. FWIW, I would go used instead of new also. There is an 066 in the classifieds that will save you boatloads of cash over new.

Home Depot should have a MM ($25), I ordered mine on sale at Amazon. Also, my husbands Stihl saw is from Jax too :)

Yepp it already opened! Very exciting, yet the few employees I spoke with were not well versed on their products, I guess that will work it's self out in time. I went to the depot but couldn't find one, but I didn't have ton to search and the employees there are almost worse with product knowledge or location. I'm going to Jax, the north one, tonight to hopefully purchase a 661 with a 32" bar!

Also we had a tree care company come out to the jobsite today to remove the largest Western White Pine in CO! Didn't go exactly as planned due to Longmont Municipal Code, the city would of charged us just under $4,000 to pay a tree company ($2,750) remove it! Crane driver wasn't all that happy with us but we still got it pruned and it's looking good now. image.jpeg
There is a Blue Spruce blocking the trunk of the Pine. image.jpeg

Not making fun.... It amazes me that little tree that was planted grew so tall... Right next to the house. Keep reminding myself they will grow...

    Welcome to the forum Louis.

One thing for sure to keep in mind with the bigger saws; they get heavy and heavier the more they are used! If you cut for short periods they can be fun but if you cut for hours, they get heavy and the older you get, the heavier they get too. I've always said to not get any more saw than is absolutely necessary. Some have scorned me as right now our big saw is the 290 with a 16" bar. However, I believe I have one tree on this place that would be too large for me to cut with that saw so I don't need the extra weight and my back is already terrible.

I may be just a dumb flatlander, but that tree is too close to the structure. Cut it down.

I'll ring in for the New Hampshire delegation, welcome to the club Louis! You made a nice entrance with those pics, I've got the same splitter as you ( 25 ton ). It looks like you have a Cub Cadet motor on yours. Mine has a Honda, guess they make different set ups. Anyway, enjoy the show.:handshake:

Yes it's a Cub engine. I really wanted the Honda but the salesman talked me into it because it was in stock and apperently had a three second faster cycle time.

That White Pine at the jobsite was planted when the original house was built (circ. 1909) and was only about 10'-15' tall at that point. It is an original double carriage house in Old Town Longmont, I'm surprised none of the previous owners had taken care of it.
