Southampton couple were treated for minor injuries at the local hospital emergency after their Smart Car hit a squirrel on Highway 21.
Witnesses say the squirrel fled the scene.

There is also no room in a smart car for a spare tire or tire changing tools. A bit of a problem in our area with no cell phone service or roadside telephones when you are an hour from town.

I did see pictures of an accident with one of those cars once. It was not good.

Husband commuted 1 hour each way on one of the most dangerous highways in the US, some guy with a smart car commuted the same time. All the real vehicles passed him going up steep hills, then the smart car would speed and pass them going downhill. Too many semi's on that narrow highway with high speeds to risk ones neck like that. Not worth it IMHO.

Smart cars are funny to see on the highway, they are so small.
I bet you could probably fit one in the back of a full size pickup

Funny thing is, that the aluminum space cage/ frame on a smart car is extremely tough. Probably the stiffest/ strongest frame/passenger compartment in any car.

At least it's rwd, and the motor in the back too, so it's a mid engined rwd car.
