It was a nuisance before but today a woodpecker died flying into our living room window. I assume they're seeing the reflections. What works to keep them from doing this?
Someone I know put up a picture of an owl in the window. Doesn't have to be in the middle of the window. A stain glass Owl would really look nice. What they see is the reflection of any trees or bushes in your yard and they don't understand the concept of mirrors.
From the outside, I see the reflection. It happens in the daytime when it's sunny and reflections are clear.
I have a plastic owl that I'll sometimes outside our south living room window. The birds only fly into the glass a few weeks a year in the spring and fall when the light hits it just right. The owl seems to make them take a u-turn.
Want to borrow my dogs? They will have your windows covered in noseprint smears and muddy paw marks in no time
A scare crow would work also. I'm sure my wife would sell you this one pretty cheap. I been scaring living creatures for 55 years now and no complaints.
