Hardly "primitive weapons" anymore, are they? Most states opened up separate seasons to give the original black powder hunters some time in the woods. Now the seasons are just additional revenue generators. No rifle hunting in NJ either for safety reasons, but the inlines can reach out just the same.

 

Only primitive in terms of the rate of fire and the increased chance of a misfire over a metallic cartridge.

 

I ordered same scope in camo today for my Omega. Guys at the gun shop gave wifey wrong scope (nice coyote special) so I went in to exchange and they had just mounted the last xr they had to a buddys new inline. Should be able to shoot next weekend and get ready for next years season as ours is done here in NY.
Envious of the great deer hunting you folks in Ohio have. Great deer and seasons. I have hunted the Wayne National Forest a few times, and hope to bow hunt it again next year.

I have two Thompson Omegas and love them. Your encore is a beauty. I have looked at them a lot but never justified the purchase.

I second making sure you use Hot soapy water for the cleanup after firing one.
