Really good. You might want to consider taking a sander or something to smooth those rail edges down. Got mine as smooth as a newborn's butt! No splinters that way. you are going to love having that back deck on.

Noticed that the Oaks dropped their leaves today. Tons of them! Only the beech remaining. They are always the last to give up! Can't see any green lawn now!

I just finished enduring a 29 hour power & telephone outage. Even the cell service trickled down to emergency calls only. My back-up system didn't last until morning but that's another story on it's own. But I was able to restart it without a match, the embers were still alive and well after I fired up the generator. We had a 5-10 minute hurricane blast early yesterday morning and a big tree knock out the hydro line about a mile from me. There was reported outages all over the province so the hydro crews were overwhelmed. Now the power is back on, time for some hockey and brewskies:cheers:

Yep, the edges are going to be planed smooth in the spring, and will use a block plane to do the cross grain ends. The Olympic deck paint you recommended did a great job on the front deck.....nice & smooth w/o any real sanding done, so the back one will get the same treatment.

Looking forward to see how the finish on the front deck holds up to winter.....IF it ever gets here <fingers crossed it stays away>.

Wicked winter ahead, no mild winter ahead, and on and on. It has been warmer than usually, but like any weather in Maine, it is always subject to change! Just be prepared, hold onto your Azz and make the most of it! It is like it was a supper time when I was a kid, I got what was on my plate. No discussions changed anything. What Mom said she was planning and what we got may or may not be what we ended up with.

Waiting for it to warm up a bit so I can fire the bike up and get groceries. The work on the Explorer isn't done yet so have to ride to work at least on Monday and maybe Tuesday. Thankfully they have raised the expected lows from the mid 20's to about 30*.

Unfortunately, if you follow the AO (Artic Oscillation) from last winter, we should have had NO polar vortexes. They claim that negative numbers lead to frigid temps in the NorthEast, but looking at the chart, all the numbers were in the strong positive from Dec. - June. Go figure

You have a strong constitution. That has to be a tough ride into work. Hope your new ride is ready for you real soon.

    That's just too cute!

Yes, we have magical creatures in the land of Stoddard that visit (if we are very good) to share food grown in the garden, and at the top of the mountain we can see for miles & miles around, and if we're really lucky, we get to see the Rainbow pointing towards that magical place where Unicorns & wood pellets are available! Our pellet stove, the "lady Francesca" knows the secret to keeping our small hamlet warm (love), so it's ok if Elsa is sad sometimes, but we don't like it too much when she's -really- upset here. Our two princesses would fully approve your daughter's -excellent- story. (I miss those days. sigh.)

Got to get to town (following the rainbow) to pickup Mower parts - Game On!:rofl:

    Have a great day!
