I know Dennis is there. I was unable to go because my friend from Albany, a recent Woodstock customer who I would have stayed with and travelled with, was too swamped with work to take the time off. Big bummer here, but I hope they all have a great time up there today.

The food was awesome. New stove looks even better in person too! The secondaries were very impressive. Nice to meet some of you.

Met Dennis and the ornery one today (his description, not mine!), Darrin, Raybonz....sampled some Long Trail maple porter and had some nice pork sandwiches. Here's a pic (son Seamus in the corner), I really like the look of this stove, my lame photo doesn't do it justice.

She's real pretty, I could easily see her gracing my hearth. Woodstock was giving away t-shirts and trivets with some of their more popular designs.

We spent two hours there, good times with good folks.

Only regret - no photos of the folks I met. Fail?

Here's a few pics. Prizes for naming the cast of characters. I got there late and needed to leave early but was able to meet a few of our esteemed group.

Many thanks to the great folks at Woodstock Soapstone Stove Compay, where customer service and excellent products are their number one priority. I don't know how they do it, but having fun seems to be part of Tom's great formula for this fine company.

It was a very large crowd there today, I was amazed. The showroom was packed, the parking lots were packed and everyone was smiling.

We made it up and had a great lunch, talked with quite a few people, and peered into the innards of quite a few stoves. My wife liked the looks of the new stove and we're thinking it would make a nice second stove for us. Glad to see it takes a 20" stick. Liked the bypass design. Would have liked to play with the air control and a stack of wood. Really enjoy doing business with them - great people.

The worst part of the Pig Roast is when it's time to go :(

The new stoves impressed me because the construction is extremely solid, simple and just plain Woodstock-like. The moving mechanisms (latches, doors, Cat access and cat removal and ash pan system) all remind me of bank vaults because they are so overly built and solid. The new stoves look like they will last for decades of hard use and are extremely easy to repair. Reminds me of old fashion early 1900's era simple and reliable ingenuity but with today's technology.

Good seeing Dennis & Judy, raybonz, fishingpol, oldhippie, Unhdsm, Sorry I missed burndatwood and some others.

And thank you to the Woodstock crew (Ken/Jeff,Chris,Tom,Lorin) for patiently putting up with my 1,000,000+ questions about the stoves!
They never looked annoyed for a second :hair::hair::hair:

Where's the soapstone on that new stove? Looks nice for a steel stove but I'd like to see some side and top slabs.

I made it. Grabbed some grub and only got a quick look and run down on the new units, before I got the 5 min warning from the wife. My two boys (4yr old and 9 mth old) don't yet have the patients for daddys need for more info. But they didn't break anything, and there still young and I'm sure they will catch the need to know bug. Sorry I didn't get to meet you guys would have been good to put faces to our online personalities.

Looks like it would be fun to test one of those little guys. Having a t-couple set up from day one. Think of all the graphs I could post :D.

I like how they ran some of the secondary air down the back wall in 2 places on either side of center. 2 bimetallic tertiary inlets also. The cat bypass door is super simple, also great addition.

they must have enough miles on the franklin to have initial reports on the efficiency. i am very curious if it burns less wood than the IS, or whether that's the point of the exercise, and so forth. right side loader. more similar to the IS idea than not. looks like a winner.
going forward a bit into the 2020s i'm going to swap the IS out for new product. could you imagine what they will have by then...

I love all the cool stuff, but I'm not digging the Franklin design.

I'm still in N. Woodstock with Ray, Jon left about an hour ago. Dennis and his wife are downstairs on the first floor. It was great meeting all the FHC folks that could come, I'd say about 10-12 in total came. Dennis is incredible, a great person to be with, he will talk about anything but his passion for wood burning and his fondness of WS doesn't compare.
I have some pics to post when I get home later this morning. I also have some updated info on an IS issue some owners ran into last burn season, I'll post that on the IS thread.
All in all a great trip
