First fire in my house today! You east coast guys have probably been burnin' a while now? Mid 40's overnight, just 65 today. Fired up a small load of pine to take the chill off. Time to start moving a cord into the garage for what is being hyped as a predicted long wet winter in California.
It's been really mild here, had about 6 fires during the night since October, this time last year was alot colder, I guess El Nino is the reason for it
I love these types of posts! Really shows perspective in other parts of the country! Here? At 65 during the day and mid 40's at night - we'd still have the windows open 24/7.
I have had about 4 small fires since first of October. It was 71 degrees here in Southern West Virginia today, 50's tonight.
I have to agree with J1m. At 65 for daytime highs I get enough heat build through south facing windows that I need to open windows or fire up the AC to cool it off. When I close the windows near sun down the house stays warm on its own over night, even at 30ºF outside.
Pretty much the same with us, my house was built in 1880. They new how to get the sun's benefit back then. BTY it is 72 deg. here now, a record. Saving wood big time. damm poor ice fishing though!
