Well I only have a modest country place (just 25 acres with much bigger places all around here), and an old beater 1975 Ford 3400 backhoe. But I make the best of it. Just dropped the hoe off for the winter so I can put my drawbar on to pull my wood trailer. I used it earlier in the week to help pull down my neighbor's big dead pumpkin ash across his "soft" lawn from about 250' away with my portable winch/chain/cable. He hacked at it with his dull MS311/20" bar for awhile till I convinced him to use my sharp 440 with a 25" bar.
That's a damm fine machine Boog. My loader sprung a transmission fluid leak from somewhere.........it's deep under the floorboards. Prolly a cooler line, or a o-ring on one of the filters. At least I hope it's something simple.
Hello all! New to this forum but wow am I impressed with these rigs! All I have right now is a 2008 Yamaha Rihno but it's not really efficient for hauling wood and general work around the house, hopefully trading in soon for a small yard tractor. I have also been using my neighbors Kubota KX080-3 to do some work around the property. Nice machine but not exactly what I need at the moment.
I detest having to work on deeply buried lines like that. I just replaced all the hydraulic lines on the hoe this spring, what a job getting to all those up inside that baby! Good luck with it, schedule that job in between everyone's saws!
Hey Boog I have a 72 ford 2000 with a loader on it. Looks very similar to yours except without the hoe. I will have to take a pic of it and post on here.
Same here but the cub before bota 1986 super garden tractor 18 hp. til re- powered with 25 hp honda. at 2650 hours...
Thanks, it was a fun project. I needed to rework my "hangar" (the swivel joint that it hangs from) today. It had too much movement and that grapple would swing wildly (while empty) on rough terrain and it ended up bending the pin that holds it on. I added some extra support and got it painted today. I'll see how it works out tommorow, I gotta get some trees out to the log pile before it (eventually) snows!
I took my chances on this one sold as scrap 3 years ago, it had been sitting dead in a field for 8-10 yrs. I had to repair/replace a lot of electrical, ignition and hydraulic stuff on it but did nothing to the engine. I did put a new Victory carb on it instead of rebuilding its old Holly (wasn't the right one for the 3400 based on model #). That old engine fired right up. Starts immediately hand choked and runs smooth. Now it just needs a paint job!
I'm a little late to the game here. Used to hang out over on AS a few years ago. Had no idea about this site until now. Anyway, here is my old beater of a tractor (2600). I fabbed up a carry-all and a way to ballast the tractor using barbell plates. She does pretty good. Would love to get something 4wd with a loader. Thinking either 3930 or 4630 with dual pump option.
I must be lazy. This is how we gather from the stack to the house.. Until the lawn is put in. Looking for a small tractor to run sickle bar, rake and baler any suggestions. Go old school or new. As always trying to stay on budget (limited funds at lest that what the boss remind me)
Same picture I used for a picture in another thread of My saw . 2003 N.H. TC30 , usually has the 757C Backhoe on it that has a mechanical thumb if I need to reach out and grab something . Fred H.
