Picked up another saw

I stopped in a local Husky dealer a couple of days ago to check the shop out, which I had never been in before. I got to talking with a guy that worked there, which I later found out was the owner. I had walked over and was checking out a 545 Husky, when he walked up, I told him I had a 555, and had been very impressed and pleased with it for cutting firewood. I told him I was thinking about and had been reading about this particular saw. He mentioned the 550XP, but I told him I was really leaning toward the 545 with a 16" bar. He then told me he had one and really loved it as well, and agreed the 545 is a great saw. I asked if he thought the owner would do any better on price, that is when he told me he was the owner. I was kinda surprised because this guy was kinda young. Anyway we talked a little bit, and he made me an offer on one and I jumped on it, got him to throw in an extra chain, and he even changed the sprocket over to 3/8x50 for me at no extra charge. I have only ran about 3/4 of a tank in it so far but seems to be a really good cutter. I will put it to work this weekend and really give it a work out. I love my 555, and had read several good comments about the 545 on FHC, as well as another site, so I think I should be pleased.

 

Just added them. Lol.... Dang computer was acting up.
I would like to add this young man was very knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely be going back to his shop even though it is a 40 minute drive. Kinda people I like dealing with.

16" bar balances perfectly on that saw ! I look forward to more pics !!

Yep, I read some of your posts on the 545 Fuzz, that is one thing that got me looking at them..... Thanks for costing me money!!! Lol...

Is the 545 not so closeto the 555 in size and performance and weight to earn its keep?

Seems like you would want really small or really big? But I have never handled a 545. Must be much different than the 445 as I am not impressed with that saw and if I used the 555 that I had e at work as a firewood saw I would not see a Place for the 545. B

But new saws are always cool congrats on a new saw.!!!

I picked up a parts wild thing on the street for free a day ago and was happy!!! The free saw box was more appealing to me than the saw!!!

 

I was wondering if it was a pro saw? That makes way more sense. Cause the 445 feels like a slightly more powerful wildthing riding on springs!!!
I kind of wondered....all the 5xx saws seem to be pro or way better quality than 4 saws

I have not ran it enough to know much about it yet. Like Dex said, I always read 562/555 - 550/545, with the 555/545 be slightly detuned, 60cc vs 50cc. I have read much good stuff about this 545, if it is as good as my 555 it should be great. I will say, with the 16" bar the 545 feels a good bit lighter than the 555, so I would think it would justify it's exsistance in my lineup for firewood duties. Yes and most will agree these are Pro grade saws.

 

Great looking saw Dex, don't think I need or want one that big. Lol.... My 460 Is enough for me...
