Next ? - i pulled the while auger assembly out , to the eye it looked in tact and no obstructions , i presume motor is the failure? Odd thing - compared to pool motors, i could not move the auger screw or motor shaft freely, by hand- normal?
Yep! Normal. Your trying to turn the output shaft. You can only turn it by the input shaft where the motor connects.
Yup.....price is too cheap for me to consider the expense of installing a pellet eater.....at least for this winter. Gotta admit, loved not having to feed/clean a stove last winter.
Did you try connecting 120V to it while out of the stove? If so, still hear the "click/grind? Does the end of the auger have a bushing supporting it? Again, if so, did you check for excess "slop" in the bearing/shaft?
Both bearings nice & tight, i did not pull & 110 jump it as its getting good voltage in the stove. The noise comes and goes, but always comes back -- got a new auger motor en route, too early in the season for "crossing fingers" Thanks gents! Ray
