Been burning uglies on and off through October - hoping to get through another winter without turning on the propane so now we're lighting small fires to take the chill off. I have a few more weeks of uglies before I get into shoulder season wood.

When I saw this thread I knew there were many of us who have been having fires for a month or more. Especially those of us who heat only with wood. Although we've been burning over a month, we really have not burned that much compared to previous years.

Ours has been coming in waves. It cools down, mostly at night, and then warms up. Definitely have not burned as much this year as opposed to the same time last year.
