You can def handle full comp on that 72cc saw. I was referring to running a 24" bar on the 59cc Echo. I should have clarified my response.

    Hmm? A 24" bar on a 60cc Saw for bucking 20"+ timber?

That is a pretty good set up for knot bumping, and limbing on downed trees.
Which is why they make 24" K095 bars for the 60 cc Husqvarnas, and Dolmars, but for bucking, it seems like a lot more strain on the saw than is necessary.

I wish I had a little better echo support closer. But that probably would have made my choice that much harder.

If having 24 running saws at one time is a MILD case of CAD, I'd hate to see a severe case! I only have 8 running saws, very early stages of CAD.
After a slight MM and tune on my CS 590 I was quite pleased with the saw. Cut in some 14-18" oak and it is much better than my MS290! Very happy w/ my $300 "bay" purchase!

Yesterday the new 24" Laser bar and semi- chisel chain were delivered and today the new carb. adjuster caps and cap removal tool were delivered. I am pretty impressed with the quality of the relatively inexpensive Laser components- nice quality and it cuts great (in my limited experience- not even a relative of Paul Bunyan). Better balance to the saw too IMO. The slot was a bit too tight to slide on the mounting studs but a few swipes of a file took care of that. Enriched the mixture a bit and the saw cut harder as well as ran better, I think I will enrich the mixture a tad more, at least for break- in.

So overall, I am quite happy with the Echo 590 wearing a Laser 24" bar for well under $600. I fully understand and acknowledge it is NOT a 4XX series Stihl nor is it Husqvarna 572 either but I did not pay nearly as much for it either. Given my needs and how much wood I plan on cutting, I think the Echo was the far better value for me and my situation.
