Finally got my big pile split and stacked! Came out to be 10 cords!! So that 10 and another 5 in the bin in front of that one and 6 more here at the house!! Also made good on a promise I made to a friend to cut down his mulberry and hedge tree today so started a new pile:) Also helped his neighbor out by cutting up a mulberry tree that had fallin in a atom a few weeks back. Started today around 9...dropped both trees...bucked everything up..loaded...unloaded..stacked em. Done at 1 and now resting:) tmp_22071-photo-5-1318516741.JPG tmp_22071-P_20151023_131402-1743256162.jpg tmp_22071-P_20151023_131414-1657912476.jpg tmp_22071-P_20151023_131432-144624321.jpg

You hit the "mother-load" there man. I'll take mulberry and hedge over oak if given a choice between them. Just where in Indiana are you???? "The Peoples Republic of Illanoyz" here!!! Have sharp saw, hard worker, will travel for wood!!!!!!

Thanks. There's quite a bit more mulberry out there to be cut. My friends neighbor wants all the mulberry gone and the neighbor on the other side has a couple big mulberry trees down too.I'm in NW IN by Lafayette.

Thanks guys. This will be my 2nd year burning so trying to get ahead and stay ahead!! Crazy thing is I had hernia surgery this past May and still managed to scrounge 15 cords of wood this year, but I'm young:)

Scooter, are those full cord or face cord?

Sorry to hear about the hernia but sounds like you've healed well.

Backwoods Savage those are full cords. That back big stack is approx 6.5 high(7 in middle for rain run off) x 25 ft long x 8 deep. That's I think a little over 10 cord just in that stack. Measured everything I have and came out to around 21 cords not including those rounds in the bottom pics that I just got. Yeah I healed up pretty fast. Staying active after surgery really helped me heal fast, and the fact I'm only 38 helps too:)

Nice high-BTU wood there! I'm jealous, only been able to manage a few loads of spruce so far for the year.

Thanks. The big stack consists of mostly Black locust with no bark so pretty seasoned before it even hit the stacks. A lot of White Ash, Honey Locust, and Mulberry. At the house I have Hedge, Shagbark/pignut hickory, White oak, and more Black locust. Got the soft maple, walnut, cherry, hackberry, and gum to get the primo stuff goin! Gonna be a good burnin season here:)
