Always my thought when I see picture like this how do they process it. When my loggers with new equipment and feller butcher dropped 4 foot diameter sugar maples that were past prime the chose not to process the trunks.. too hard on the equipment Did not know what I was doing but ended up working on it on and off most of summer. I earned those BTUs
Assuming they grew people shorter back in the day, and the guy on the ground is about 5' tall, that looks to be a 15' diameter log. If they cut it to 8'8" for lumber, that butt end would weigh about 39 tons.
