My last house was surrounded by Oaks of all variety's.....I HATE Oaks simply because of the leaves in the fall....they are the very last to fall, and even sometimes don't! Oaks = :headbang:

No Oaks here at the "new" place...thank god.

BTW, supposed to get down to 26* tonight :shiver:

Still working that one out. She is smart enough to know that my being alone here (except for her) for 15 years will be a challenge with kids. I might be slightly set in my ways

Cold here this am 28 finally warmed up towards noon.. Couldn't get the winter beater truck started so we decided to spiff up the lp tank... I think it looks much better now.
I was thinking about the member named ihatepropane while doing this.

We took a trip over to Mt. Major last week. We did the easy trail up and down, it took about 2 hours to get up and 1 hour 15 mins to get down. It was a perfect day, could not have asked for better. Here are a couple pictures from the top. One regular, and one pano. The pics just don't do it justice, it's a humbling experience to see for miles and miles from the top, and it was made even better because the foliage colors were outstanding!

I want to say thanks a lot to gbreda for posting about his hike earlier in the year, it was that post that gave us the idea to do this, and we are really very grateful. Funny thing, I think there were more hikers there with dogs than without. We are dog lovers, so it was really nice to see that.

Well the apple sauce and bread got made, then a meatloaf for supper, plenty warm in the house today not so much outside. I even got a brew with my sandwich for lunch and a nap. Great chilly fall day. Still not burning.

Great pics man. That really is a nice beginner/ intermediate hike and yeah there are always dogs

Our goofball loves being in the woods and blazing a trail in front of us. Last weekend we were in the Lake Chocorua area but did not do the mountain. Maybe some other time, this time we just walked around a few lake trails.

Went in town to pick-up some primer to get ready to paint the two siblings bedrooms back to normal colors. After lunch, the wife and I baked 4 apple pies, 2 cherry pies and one sugar pie while watching football. After supper, it was baseball, football and a little bit of hockey, and here I am after the long day to catch up on FHC
The weather outside was a blizzard at times so it's getting closer to that time of year.

Wow, it sure is cold here now! Got way down into the 20's. We knew it would happen sooner or later and here it is. We had a weird snow storm yesterday. No accumulation, but it was blustery for a while. I happened to be in town when the storm came. It sure was turning heads. There was a snow mobile show going on at the civic center and I'm sure the snow was an inspiration to them.

Used to love an occasional snow squall when bird hunting. It would start the ruffed grouse moving around and easier to locate.

Today is wharsh day. The boss added a couple of loads to my normal ones, have the summer quilts, the winter ones are now on the bed. KC should be happy more quilts to inspect. BTW, inspecting quilts is one of the jobs assigned to her, we are very cruel. This picture shows her being introduced to her new job the morning after she came home.

She will roll in it but doesn't get silly like a lot of cats. She also doesn't go out of her way if I put some out.
