Good day to be outdoors working with wood! Yes, that is a chain saw on the atv. But please don't get excited as all I did was take the little saw to cut a couple trees that had fell against a tree I want to climb for hunting. So just made a few cuts then went to the wood pile to load up. And it was stacked here. This is a start. We usually put in around 3 cord of wood in the barn and that is what we will use this winter. Even though it was like winter today with the snow and cold air. Felt good though.
WTG on the wood! The leaves in both your pic and papadave 's photos are beautiful. Honestly I have only seen those colors/shape in pictures. Sorry you have to clean them up but are very pretty to look at
Nice work! Yes, Dennis, a beautiful day indeed. The only woodworking a did today was stuff some in the stove. But, it was a nice day for a family dove hunt, skeet shooting, and sighting things in.
Here are a couple better pictures of the color. But this year the colors are not much. Very disappointed. To make matters worse, with all the wind we've had in the past week or more the leaves fall fast. Amazingly, many of the trees are still very green.
That no doubt was oats. It's been a while since that picture but I've planted oats and/or rye for many years. This might be the last year though as I plan on planting all the food plots into clover next spring. Might do some frost seeding. Or, may wait and plant buckwheat then around August 1 plant the clover. Haven't yet decided.
