Hey guys, I have some plans for some winter saw projects. One is to switch out the spur spocket on a Husq 162se. Saw is new to me, and original sprocket is well worn and chain doesn't spin well. Having a bit of a tough time figuring out replacement part to convert to new drum with rim sprocket. The few places I've looked indicate that different serial number ranges need different drums - I think I read this is due to a difference in threading on the crankshaft. I'm thinking of removing the rim drum from my 61 and see if the threads are the same on the 162se. I've seen a few parts dealers listing the same rim/drum setup as fitting the 162se and 61 (and other models). Anywho, if anyone has experience with the 162se and could offer any help, I'd appreciate it! Cheers!
Ok ... took a look at the Oregon info ... When using these comparisons, keep in my that the 61 must be before serial number 0510572. Drum 102469 should take care of you ... rim would be 68210 (.375 ... 7 pin)
Might - but will wait to see how the drum works out - but true -no thread issue for the drum - shouldn't have included that !
Hey buddy !! How did this work out for u ? I'm sorry that the spur was so wore on it I usually have all that taken care of before I sell. Things were outa hand on my end Inmay need a pic of the old girl tho.....that was a stout runner !!
Worked out just fine Fuzz - good fit and glad to have a rim on instead of the spur. No worries at all - can't find that saw in that shape very often - still happy I bought it! Cheers!
Glad to hear it buddy ! I'm glad you have it too ! I remember trying to start that old girl . I remember thinking.."OK fuzz....you better mean it " when I started tuggin on the pull cord lol !
