I would have gotten lost in the kitchen ware in Lehmans. Maybe even in the craft and sewing department. Lots of neat stuff to look at.

It is nice place to spend some time. Also some nice Amish stores not too far away if you come back again.

The Lehman's looks like a great place to go. I've been wanting to buy an aladdin lamp from them for some time now. Stopped at the Cabela's when we visited our son and his wife in Ann Arbor. With the exception of the gun department, I wasn't too impressed with the place. People up there drive like freakin' lunatics, what's up with that?

Its the 75 and 96 and 94 corridors detroit lansing, Jackson, chicago and Toledo all come together there. That is one of the worst streaches of freeway I have ever traveled... This from a former over the road truck driver... Every winter somewhere in that section of the state is a huge 150+ car pile up. I have been brake checked so many times ive lost count down 94 and 96... If you go 70 through that are you will get run over! Lol

The Toledo area wasn't so bad. 23 and especially 94 were insane. I remember thinking that all these peoples lives must really suck to be this hostile and aggressive.

    Bingo.
One reason I moved up north. Heavy traffic up here consists of having to wait for 4-5 cars at the blinker in town.
Holidays and weekends it's worse.

Hey Norky Pallet Pete papadave There used to be a T-Shirt that said the following:

Detroit - Where the weak are killed and eaten

What you experienced is what is called "Urban City Driving" and it is not for everyone. I guess I am used to it. Heck, I used to work in it! :jaw::bug::hair::startled::picard:;)

I understand how you feel though, this is part of the reason why I, in the somewhat distant future, when my parents pass on, I plan on selling this house and moving to the U.P.

I mean, with the taxes we pay here, you'd think our streets would be paved with gold. chit, around here, the side roads are so bad, you can tear up a front end alignment, if you ain't really careful! And that's on the freakin' side streets! :headbang: Plus you get a postage stamp for a backyard and nosey assed city inspectors who gripe if you have a grass blade out of place. :headbang:

This is why, when they pass on, I am putting this house on the market and going to the U.P. Dunno what kinda house I will end up with, with my budget and all. But, I'd rather live in a one bedroom, one bathroom shack; than to deal with the B.S. down here in Lincoln Park. It sucks and I want out. I really do. :(

Nice haul Pete. It looks like all quality goods. Stainless perc, real nice. I will admit I zoomed in real close to see everything. I like the cast biscuit cooker thingy. We don't have anything like that around here.

Looks like a lot of stuff I would buy. The dutch oven is nice. Would be good for cooking on the wood stove.
