So, because I didn't go with the Selkirk vent kit, I'm going to have to do a separate OAK for the 50F. Any opinions on the best materials to use????

I used 3" gas appliance venting pipe for my OAK. Worked well, and the pipe/elbows/etc were inexpensive. I used a piece of flex pipe inside and a car exhaust adapter I had laying around to connect the flex pipe to the air intake.

Sweet. I'll have to revisit my local supplier to see what they have in 3" gas vent. If I can get the chimney up this weekend I'll do the OAK when I get home from hunting. I head out on Oct 16th and have a pile to do next week before I go. If I somehow manage to prep my gear this weekend I'm going to try and have the OAK in next week before I go.

Awesome. Thanks for that. After seeing your 50F install I wish my local dealer had stocked the Selkirk Direct Temp venting. It's so much easier for supplying outside air to the stove. Oh well Not a lot I can do, I think opting to go with something my dealer has full stock of is worth it. I've already gone once and exchanged some parts I bought and got more pipe.

As an update, dad and I worked all day yesterday on the chimney. Base is in, and the chimney and liner are up to just above the roof. We'll finish it tomorrow hopefully! We would have had it done yesterday but it took a bit of time to cut out where it went through the roof.

I'll take some pic at some point and post them for you guys. Sorry for not have more while I've been progressing.

No worries on the pics. We all know how it goes on an install. You want to take pics but the need for heat overcomes all other factors!

    Keep on plugging along... :)

Yeah, and was a busy weekend. I haven't mixed that many batches of mortar by hand since I worked for my dad in my 20's. I'm a hurtin' unit right now. Hard to believe how out of shape I am.

And thanks, promise to try and get pics posted before I head hunting.

    Hey Guys,

Here are a few pics of the chimney going up. Should have a pic of it completed for you tomorrow. I also received my upgraded combustion blower blade and have placed an order with Fahrenheit for some replacement part as well as goodies to help with airflow. The list includes the redesigned sail switch, exhaust manifold assembly, the baffles for either side of the burn pot, and door pusher assembly. Not CHEAP! :picard: Not having a dealer in my area is killing me. I really hope this unit doesn't need much work in the coming years.

Nice work! I wish I knew you need the 2 inner plates beside the pot. I had two extra sitting here.

I also have parts lists that I can send you. I got from Fahrenheit.

 Thanks for the offer, I was going to try and reuse mine, but they are in too rough of shape. They were the cheap part, $8 each. I may contact you the next time I place an order though. As I had to pay an extra fee for brokerage becuase of the cross border sale. They suggested if I had an address in the states to ship to, and then had that person ship it north to me, I may be able to save a bit.

Great, I have a parts list Matt sent me, but always game for more information, incase something is different on you list to the one I was given.

Oh yeah! I'm hoping when I get back from the moose hunt I'll be able to finish the interior installation and then I can light her up! :MM:

As promised. Here are the pics of the completed chimney.

I'd be your guy inside the states, if'n you decided to ship here and then to your place.

As for the list? I got mine from Matt Fitts as well. So you likely have what I'd send you. As far as documents go.

Awesome. Thanks  So between you and Don I should be set for anytime I need anything.

I tell you, with the response I was getting from the dealers up in here in Canada, I was getting mighty nervous about buying my 50F. I'm certainly glad that Matt and the others at Fahrenheit Technologies have been so good to deal with, or I think I may have got rid of the unit and purchased something else.

Matt Fitts and Mark Graham are both great people. They make Fahrenheit what it is...

Good to know Mark is another good person to deal with. I don't think I've talked to him yet.

I tell you one thing though, I wish the Fahrenheit dealers in Canada would get their crap together. If these units are half as good as what you guys are saying they'd sell a lot of them up here if the dealer support was better and if there were more dealers.
