The problem is when an activity that is a true crime (assault, murder) is confused with something that is not (owning a weapon). So those in power commit a crime (banning weapons), because it looks like they are "doing something."

We see the same problem over and over with the drug war, vice squads, etc. - non-criminals are prosecuted for non-crimes, while criminals make the laws.

Right where I want to be.
I think certain people should be banned for thinking. They're obviously not good at it and it ends up being detrimental to those who are good at it. Should be a crime.
Criminalizing guns is a prime example.
Guns only do what they do when a person pulls the trigger. Otherwise, they just sit there. What's so hard to understand?
I'm about to get mad, so I'll stop.

Found this quote I liked... If guns kill people then pencils misspell words, cars make people drive drunk and spoons made Rosie O’Donnell fat.

Btw, my opinions expressed above go along well with my decision to not own guns, and I am about as anti-war as anyone.

I think guns need to be taken off the streets period! People need to do something about this and fast. With it being fall guns don't belong in the streets they need to be taken into the fields and forests. Guns should be used as tools to bring meat home and as opportunities to bond parents and children. Friends talking about hunts of the past and their kids listening to the stories wanting to be like them some day. And years later wishing you could have just one more time to hear how the big one got away because all there will be left is the memories after the older generations are gone.:campfire:

I lost all of mine in a tragic boating accident, so there's nothing left to take away.

OK! I guess for just this one time I could be serious . Many guns that are used in shootings are stolen, so, how secure are most gun owners about the storage of their guns? Many guns are sold to people that have no idea how to use their weapon, they are just paranoid about the area that they live in. When will we let the mental health professionals off the hook and let them report on an individual that should not own a gun? I could go on and on but I think that all of us could find a solution to this problem that we could all agree on! So where is the problem ?:hair::popcorn:
