Took the MS 192T, Husky 353 and the CS590 out today to gather some more hedgeapple. The CS590 started right up, idled good as usual but after 3 or 4 cuts in a 20" piece of hedge it did not want to idle down after the last cut.

I shut it down and finished with the 353. Tomorrow, I'll have to look it over and maybe run a pressure test for piece of mind. (I've modded the muffler and have the H & L screws backed off 1/4 turn from stock settings)

    Pic's tomorrow of my findings.

Worked on it last night. Pressure tested good, but found both of the carb bolts were left loose from where I had been Monkeying ( no offense Mastermind) with the carb limiters.

Ran it right after church today, all is good.

Thanks guys, I really didn't want to chase down a vac leak or take it back to the dealer and try to get warranty work after the changes I've made. I'm not sure they would have stood behind the 5 year warranty with the muffler gutted.

I'm not sure they backed off, it's possible I didn't torque them down. Most likely it happened after I had restocked the mini-fridge in my shop.

    I'm fortunate a few  didn't cost me a P&C.

The thing is you have enough know in you that something is wrong. So you stopped.

I rebuilt a 60cc of mine and loaned it out while I was working on the guys 310. Thinking I would get it broke in. Well the impulse line came off part way and he didnt know what was going on so he finished cutting with choke half on. :picard:

If it were not for places like this, I'm sure it would have been toasted pretty good.

If you torque them down than you totally close them down right? Or are they designed different?

Right. The two bolts/torx head pass thru the carb and tightens it up against the intake boot. I can only guess that when pulling the limiters and adjusting the H & L screws, I put them back in and only finger tightened them. The vibration must have allowed them to back out a bit and created a vac leak between the carb and the intake boot.

They don't appear to be stripped, so my guess is mechanic (me) error.

Ok I am lost. Guess I have not messed with a saw like your carb??

All my saws have a needle screw that you loosen or tighten. The more you loosen each one the more fuel that can get by. If I tighten them down all the way no fuel or almost none will flow by them.

Same with the Echo, I was trying to remove the limiter caps and it was easier for me to unbolt the entire carb. Problem was, when I finished I didn't tighten up the mounting bolts that attach the carb to the saw/intake boot..
