My son and I finished up splittin' for my parents today. This time it was the apple. Figured I post up some pics for those that never process it. It's the biggest pain that you'll ever stack! Monday I pizzed off my back positioning 8 RR ties to line their driveway. I believe it that they weigh an average of 200# ea!! Then tues morning... 10T of stone. I had to take a few days rest, that hurt! So today I drug the boy outta bed and went a splittin'. 3 of us on the job really helped get through it. I played tetris master stacking, dad ran hydros and the boy fed him. Took a little drink break, not that it was hot. Prefect weather and workin' in the shade.
Wow. I like the wood being stacked in the carport. Those work nice for wood sheds. Good that you don't have to do all this alone. Nice work but that does not sound good for the back with all that lifting. Neither does this bending! For sure I would not last 3 minutes if I had to bend like that when splitting! By back just would not take that at all. That is why I split vertically....while sitting.
good job wolverine, yeah apples a great wood! it is for me a pain to split and stack because it grows so crooked and twisty... but apples on top of a straight tree 60 feet up would be hard to reach!
