My wife windows what I like, she got me a pair of women's underwear. Ok, it's playing outside in the winter and she mistakenly picked up a pair of ladies thermals.

Wife puts 20K on a year.... so we said we can't lease,,, but they took care of us giving us 45K for next to nothing... I believe another 500.. That's what we figured our 2003 Subaru cost us per year to own including buying it used, 3000... When we got rid of it, we found out if need that much again in repairs... New Cat, valve cover leaking, oil cooler leaking, bad outer CV joint, one bad ball joint, rear brake caliper hanging up and the trans slipped shifting into 3rd when cold. Hardened seal... Time to dump it! They might be good when the run but they will kill you in parts.. Cat alone was like 1000 dollars... No thanks! Wife could have been driving a new car instead of the Subaru with 140K miles.. Live in learn... Guess I liked no payments, but your making them anyways trying to keep a money pit going, you just don't want to see it...

 

LIA in Colonie, NY ,,, Central Ave... While we were there I told one of the salesman I know his face... Come to find out he's been at my nephews home at some cookouts we've been to small world... They're great people to deal with... Car takes more then 30 minutes to service, your given a loaner.. They're No BS!.. They've seen it all, people shopping around, etc. No pressure to buy... I actually had a good time.... Sorry don't want to high jack the thread here...

 

Ok I'm holding out for a diesel hybrid AWD. Who will be first with a 50mpg AWD sedan or SUV?

My daughter got my wife and I a new Weber. My youngest son got me a new crucifix for my office and my wife got me a new crucifix to wear. My oldest son got me an Amazon card to pick up some of the many books I have on my wish list at Amazon.

 

I believe I saw that Subaru now offers a diesel.... I love diesels... So I briefly looked at the prices,,, yikes! Upper 40's! Then they'll wonder why they don't sell... Fuel savings verses pay back will never happen... you'll just be driving a diesel because you like diesels Hybrid diesel would be sweet but probably 60K..

 

Those Webers are great! Ours is 15 years old and is like new.We had one heck of a grease fire in ours the other night, I'm hoping nothing melted.

 

If Toyota can build an affordable 50mpg gas hybrid (Prius), and there are a number of affordable AWD sedans and small SUVs, surely someone can come up with an affordable diesel hybrid AWD sedan or small SUV? Imagine an AWD Honda CRV diesel hybrid that gets 50mpg. I think they would sell very well.

I'd love it! Just have to be priced right... Glad we are leasing in this day and age as too much new stuff will be coming out to own in my eyes...Just look at cell phones, etc... Most of our vehicles we kept for over 10 years... Now I'm seeing leasing , we are spending the same amount as if we owned after keeping vehicles for 10 years.. May as well not be stuck with something and no rust repairs to worry about.. maybe I'm looking at things differently that I'm rounding 60 soon

 

I'm starting to agree with you. My fleet is over 10 years old. I think the maintenance costs may be more than a car payment and less headaches. I don't drive enough to warrant a new vehicle, but it maybe the way to go for my wife.

 

I never wanted to admit to myself my total costs per year or every other year of what I put into my vehicles... I'm like you , I really don't drive enough so my 04 dodge diesel is working out fine for me... Just need to oil down the frame to save her.. Salt is killer... already a rusted through part under the drivers door, ugh and my first rear box fender well blister.. I'll hang on to this girl, 24 mpg on the highway, one ton diesel...5 spd std... Amsoil front to back..

I like it. We have one of those Amish heaters for the upstairs bathroom, doesn't cost much to run.

 

A friend gave us one of those. We use it for backup heat in my office waiting room. It will work fine for a small room.

 

Here is one gift I opened. Camp Inspector had posted a thread about using Log Dogs. I commented about where I could buy one? And he told me to send my address and he would ship me one! Thanks camp inspector!

These are a nice size. And I will be able to pound it in with the back of my new Stihl PA 20 Splitting Hatchet! The thing is a beast.
