Upcoming wood stove move

As some of you have read, I'm moving our wood stove down from our old family room, now our bedroom, to or living room. With this move, I'll need to relocate my wood storage. Thankfully I'm not at the hoarding stage. I'll not have to move much wood in order to relocate. For the most part, I'll need to move my rack from the back deck to the front yard.

The problem with storing the wood in the backyard is a matter of access/connivence. Our backyard slopes up to be level with the second floor. Lugging the wood from the back deck down a flight of stairs does not sit well. Much to my wife's chagrin the wood will be stored in our front yard. Where it's easily accessible, and just off the driveway.

The good news is that my new storage area is right next to the pile of logs. Resulting in far less movement of the wood.

The only hangup I have is whether the wood stove will fit through the small hallway between our dinning room and the living room. All of our furniture for the living room must be brought in the back door and down the stairs. Carrying a 525 lb wood stove down the stairs will pose significant issues.

Today I move my softball gear from the living room to storage in my garage. Once that is done, the old furniture will beed to be brought up the stairs and out, and the family room furniture down the stairs into the living room.

Now getting ready to move down the other couches. Final piece will be putting a new tv bracket on the wall to carry the TV.

The last picture is the chimney where the wood stove will be moved to. The old hole will be bricked up and a new hole will be put in 18" from the ceiling.

 

This house is old and we can't get furniture into the living room from the dinning room. Which means the furniture must come down the stairs.

Next step is TV mount. Here is the location. The 52" might be a bit too big for this room. This is the corner for the tv.

 

One final note, my wife of 18 years today wants me to tell everyone that this is a work in progress. The room needs to be painted. She opted for the furniture move today in order for it to be done. Next weekend I'll be moving the furniture into the middle and painting. Once painting is done, I'll be putting up the trim. When it's finally done, I'll post finished pictures.

 

Not to worry Mrs. boettg33, most of us have been there. Some of us, many times. We get it.

 

Many times I live in a perpetual work zone... sometimes my wife gets a little holidays or company is coming!!
