What Did You Get?

No, not from your secret Santa! We always open one on Xmas eve, and we are celebrating xmas tomorrow so I got to start tonight.

Got this bad boy from my beloved. I love it too!
We wrap with comics, and use one or two panels for the name tag. I found this one for her present-- check out the Dilbert panels: "Stop leaning in" "Feels so good"

Ok, had our first xmas this morning-- with the youngest, the inlaws, and my parents.

Got a couple great books from the in-laws, the one on the left is right off my wish list.

Mom and Dad got me the husqy tongs Dennis recommended. Dad had a heck of a time finding them, finally found a dealer that could over them in. These were what I was wishing for the most (although I think I like the waffle iron the old lady got me even better). Should really help us when we are out scavenging.

My sister in law got me the hearth gloves, again right off my wish list. The old lady got me the ov-glove. Still have several presents coming from her, going to finish that on Saturday morning with my oldest two.


The in-laws got this Dutch oven for me, it's got the rail on top for holding coals. You can see my hello hottie can cozie in the background

And, of course, as I posted on the secret Santa thread I got these trivets from my secret Santa.

I am pretty overwhelmed right now, I love everything I got and am about to pass out in the chair I think.

I gotta say you have the Xmas gifts for a FHC nut covered, nice going. I got a few things under the tree that were on the list. One more sleep, as the kids used to say. Posting in the am.

We picked this up 2 weeks ago, it's her car. She's a visiting nurse and needs reliable transportation and the Subaru just let her down 1 too many times this year

 

I do it all the time easier to clean windshield and wipers don't freeze to the glass.

 

Got the same dremel... Works great.... I do my dogs nails with the round sanding drum... Variable speed and cordless rocks! Has three battery life lights that let you know how much power is remaining as your using the dremel.

 

Wow!!!! Just did the same thing for the wife but a lease, 2014 Honda CRV got rid of the Subaru,,, was a money pit!

 

Please let me know how the CRV works out for you. We will buying a CRV or RAV4 this summer. I usually buy Toyotas, but Hondas are just as good. I think the CRV is better looking though.

 

A lease not good for us we both put 25k + miles / year . Money pit is right , put $ 3000 into it this year had 3 other Subbies before this one with not nearly as many issues . When she had to get towed that was it " I hate this F*&Kin car"

 

So far with 500 miles , we love it! Puts the Subaru to shame room wise and the great feel you get driving in the snow, Honda has lots of room... so good I was driving home on snow covered roads and to my surprise when I looked at the speedo , doing 45 , the speed limit... Wouldn't have that confident feel with the Subaru... Wife just loves it! People we bought from were great... No money down on our lease, we had good credit.. we get 45,000 miles for 3 years for just a little extra.. If we are going to run over that, guy said just come in and he would get us out of the lease early... We wanted to buy and own and the guy told us not to... He said why tie your money up.. 3 years you want something else you can move on...Having the 2003 Subaru for 3 years, that cost us just as much as if we had leased .. My wife is grateful to have something nice to drive off the mountain to work everyday.. We got the middle of the line model... Couldn't see paying 2000 dollars more for heated leather seats and a GPS... First Honda for us and love it... Now I just have to crawl under my Dodge diesel to change the oil... Honda is all done at the dealer.. We know other people who just keep buying the Honda CRV's... Yes Toyota's suppose to be good as well.. You tube has tests between these vehicles... Had a mechanic tell me the Subaru parts are the most expensive and also a lot of mechanical issues require an engine removal to access things... That's 3 hrs' labor for the removal... He said Honda's and Toyota's where the best cars to work on and parts were reasonable...
