It's a good time. This is the 160th year (I think) for it and folks come from all over, they bring their RV's and stay for the week. I bet they have at least 500 sites right on the fair grounds. Glad you enjoyed the pics. Fryeburg Fair > Home
Here's a few pics we took there on Monday. In the foreground they run the chopping, bow saw, ax throwing, and chainsaw competition. Behind that you can see two log trucks racing to load five logs, pull forward and then move a galvanized bucket full of water from one side of the truck to the other with the log loader, then pick up a 6' long 5" diameter pole and drop it into a 8 or 10" vertical pipe, then back up and place the five logs back down exactly where they were before (two stakes driven in the ground at each end of each log). A lot of fun to watch. Here's earlier in the day. Skidders in the background were running heats of the obstacle course at the same time. You can faintly see the skidder course in the background - hitched and hauled a load of logs out through a slalom course and back. Time penalties for hitting flags. Springboard competition... And some of my wife's favorites...
We have their smallest splitter (in the center of fuelrod's pic) - excellent machines. My wife kept me on the other side of the aisle as we went down past them (I'd like a TW-5, but she knows I don't really need it).
They are all they say they are and American made, my TW - P1 is 8 years old. One repair last year a $16.00 fix and it's up and running like it was new. Can't say enough good things about this company.
I'm gonna be up to my camp this weekend in Bretton Woods, NH this weekend, it's only about 35 miles away. Depending on what happens, we may swing over to Fryeberg, but the weekend traffic is scary over there. It is one helluva fair though!
