    24 hours of rain in Amarillo. This is the second fire at the shop, I cut up a pile of beams that the landscape business dropped off as waste. They have some rot in them so I'm sure they're not treated.

    It seems like a shame to burn these pieces but I'm not a woodworker.

    Treated wood does not prevent rot. It prevents insect infestation. I have seen treated wood rot away completely.

    it actually rained pretty good here today, but was really the first rain to speak of in quite some time and is suppose to be just a one day deal. we have actually been in a drought for awhile now

    Well yeah. I knew about left coast drought and fires, didn't realize that extended to Seattle. I'm out of that loop I guess.
