I like them alot and they get good reviews from other users. I will cook anything with them. I bought 2 different blends

the MHC will be my go to pellets for red meats
    • MAPLE/HICKORY/CHERRY BLEND (MHC)- Fine blend of Maple smoke flavor with a tinge of fruity Flavor and touched off with a hint of hickory. Recommended as the best all around every day keep in your hopper pellet.
and the MBC will be used for white meats and fish (salmon)
    • MAPLE/BEECH/CHERRY BLEND (MBC)- Mild sweet combination of sweet woods giving a phenomenal flavor.

They are great! I tried the ones from HD and they were all ash. I finally took a ride and picked up 10 bags of different Jacks, 40lb bags. I used 5 (40lb)bags all summer. I smoke a lot and as much as I can.

How much is the group buy?

There is a dealer 1/2 hour from me selling them for $20. That's a good price you got.

The bag say's "wood grilling pellets". Never heard of such a thing. I guess it takes a pellet grill to use them?
I've heard of pellet smokers, but I've never tried any pellet's, smoked, grilled or otherwise. :D
(theres gotta be a smartazz in every group, may as well be me)

Last year my wife bought me an offset smoker for father's day and I have used it more than my webber cooker. I had a nice score of butternut hickory and about a nicer score of apple from mums n dad's. Bucked it small 6 inch rounds and split up small. Burns great but I found bacon slabs do good w all apple but red meats and pork loin does good w a mix of good Ole white oak and apple. Used black cherry w salmon whiting perch and rock fish. Love that smoker. Thanks hun

How can you be sure the type of wood used. You'd think anything could make it in there. I ain't against pellets or nuthin.. but.... I guess it wouldn't make a difference or hurt.

16 bucks is a chunk of change for 4-5 pieces of wood. Rather stick w the plain old sticks.

stick smokers are nice but I dont have to tend/feed the fire with my pellet grill, simply fill the hopper set the temp and walk away. I can also use it as a grill and grill burgers/steaks as well as it has a temp range of 150 to 500 degrees

there are alot of pellet smoker users on the BBQ competition circuits (as well as stick burners)

That's tru. I am running back and fourth. I will smoke if I'm home for the duration of the day. Rarity w teen kids. I will start w a charcoal base and then load w 5-6 6"x3"pieces of apple and oak and let it engulf. Then slap on the items to be cooked, leave vent open and chimney and then leave it. I'll check fire after an hr. Load a few more pieces and then 8hrs later... whahla. . She's done. I'll tend like 7-8times. You are prob at like 3-4. I am an adult Pyro like yourself so. We don't play w fire we tend fire.

After fire is engulfin wood. Close her down to 3/4. Close chimney up half. Got it down to tend once an hr. Sometimes 1.5 hr. I might add...
