Camp got closed, getting too old to go up and down the embankment with the water pump. Brought back a load of stuff to wash and it is in the dryer. At least the boss stopped for lunch on the way back and I got a couple of lobster rolls at a place that has been around since the 50's. I also got a nap in.

Nothing about warsh is funny to me. It's always there whether I wash, dry, fold, put away, and there is always more the next day. It's one o fthe dirty words in my vocabulary

Spent the day working outside cleaning up the yard in preparation for winter. Drained and coiled up the hoses, put away the tools, dug in my remaining potted up plants, took a bunch of stuff to the dump, then played in several of the poison ivy patches :wacky:.

Okay, play isn't quite the right word, but got a bunch of the climbers disengaged from their root (bought a new set of clippers so I could use the old set for cutting the PI), cut down others and pulled still others. Some of the climbers had such thick stalks I couldn't cut thru them so I guess I'll have to sacrifice my loppers (or find a set on CL to sacrifice).

Stuffed all the detritus in some mulch bags that I had saved so they can go to the dump. Throwing the clothes away since I wasn't smart enough to put on the suit that I had bought specifically for this chore - at least I did have on latex gloves and long sleeves. Hey, my excuse is that I was just going out to cut stalks, then before I knew it I just started wading in the stuff .

Did a full clean up with Dawn dish soap and home made essential oil soaps. I don't know if I'm a non-reactor or whether my potions work at keeping reactions at bay - but hoping whichever it is, is working overtime tonight!

Broke down and made the first fire of the season in the wood stove this morning. I just can't bring myself to open a bag of pellets yet. The oil furnace ran a few times yesterday, and I'm getting tired of hearing that fire up, so I figured a cool, damp day is a good day to roast some wood.

    Nice!!

now come on down and get my 3 pallets from the garage to basement....HEY, maybe that can be a new initiation :p

I usually wait for the ground to freeze a bit and use the truck-half ton or so at a time-way easier on the back :)

Not yet for me. Being in the basement it takes too much burning to get the heat upstairs and wastes too many pellets-just use some oil to take the chill out.

I havnt even removed the plugs and vent cap yet. Maybe today as I will be doing some wire brushing/painting of some light rust that has formed on the top of the stove over the summer.

I need to do my 'spring cleaning' on the furnace in the next couple weeks. My goal is to burn no pellets until November 1. Time will tell if I can hold off that long.

I also need to go pick up a new leaf blower/vac soon. Someone slid my other one under the truck in the pole barn when he was in a hurry and forgot about it when backing the truck out a few days later.

I did graciously accept a ride in it, and I'm still here to talk about it.
