I've been waiting a loonnngg time for this. Started around 8:30 pm tonight. 52 outside, windy and raining. I started out with pine kindling, then threw in two small splits. Stove top topped out at 230 deg with the air wide open, and we got a non-toxic paint buzz going on. I was concerned about how my draft would be with the warmer, wet conditions, but I'm happy to say draft was great! Windows and doors cracked. It's 10:35 and almost coaling. I consider my first wood stove lighting a success! :dex:Will do another tomorrow, as they are calling for a high of 55. This is awesome.

That is an awesome set up you have there, looks real nice. You'll get lots of enjoyment out of that, especially when you can see the snow blowing sideways out the windows.

Nothing since the cord of ash. Probably b/c he sees I haven't finished splitting what I've got yet.:headbang: I'll have to make sure he knows he can pile it on!

Time to play! 2nd break-in fire. Two splits of poplar and a split of oak. Stovetop up to 240 and rising on my ir thermometer. I love everything about this so far!

Excellent hearth work and stove, Brad. Looking forward to your thoughts on the IS when you find that magical setting to get the lazy hypnotic aurora borealis floating around the firebox ceiling. Congrats!
