Welcome J1m! Just finished watching a video and looking at the brochure of the 250 - looks impressive. And just to be redundant, very nice looking stacks you have there. I'm guessing you are one of the few exceptions to the rule with regards to those burning in outdoor units; you actually burn seasoned wood. Around here the norm seems to be from pile on the ground into the unit. I drive by one guy who appears to have a just in time system where he cuts lengths of the log pile and throws into the unit. Getting several years ahead must be quite a job when you burn 10+ cord/year.
Interesting observation! I tried to burn unseasoned wood for the first two or three years I had the 250 - not because I wanted to, but out of necessity. I bought the thing without realizing that gasification units really need good seasoned wood - but I didn't have any! The thing gave me nothing but headaches. Sure, it'll burn unseasoned wood - but at the expense of baby sitting the thing 5 or 6 times a day. Ain't nobody got time for 'dat! And so began my firewood hoarding obsession!
Ya, no worries here It's a very kind forum with alot of humor and compliments, ie, "one day". And on 59
Impressive stacks. Seriously awesome. I couldnt do that tho. That much ground i would stack em closer get a small building up and let some beef roam that yard!
What about the rest of the equipment? What type of saws, splitter, etc. 59 cord. Good grief...that's alot of work.
There's a pic I took today - it's got the ported 385XP, my 5x10 Tractor Supply trailer in it, and another angle of the shed. Here's another angle with the stacks in it: As for other equipment , I also rock a 346 XP and a 262Xp, both ported. Splitter is the Ariens 34 ton. Yep, guess I like orange.
You continue to add value to the site, J1m! Sweet stocked shed, awesome equipment, and of course stacks to over Fantastical!
I know, right? I had it when I lived down south for a couple of years and brought it here when I moved back to ME. Now it's an ongoing battle to try and thwart rust & rot!!
