Good that you got the hunt over before this rain moves in. Flooding is predicted along with days of showers.

I know. I still have friends up there. If they didn't get one today, they may be out of luck.

Well I ordered a new burn pot, I don't think the current one will last the season if I use the stove most of the time. Thursday I'll finish up the stove prep, just need to blow out the convection blower and oil it. Hopefully I'll get that little project from last summer finished as well. Maybe get some more junk out of my den so I can attempt setting up my model rail-road stuff. Still need to get more junk out of the garage before winter. I might be ready before the first snow hits.

Should be plenty of both at 600 + lbs. Only had moose a few times and it was great. Maine moose as I remember.

Moose tenerloins taste like elk? Less or more gamey?

My philosophy is exactly the opposite - take off more than you think you need to because that sucker will grow back in faster and thicker than you think it will. And you'll be doing it all again in 4-6 months.

I've never had elk but I'd say less gamey. Moose isn't to far removed from beef, taste wise. I actually prefer deer over moose
