yes, We had nest in our magnolia just outside our window for a few years in a row. damm sparrow hawk would raid the next as soon as they hatched. I was glad to cut the tree down and not witness this carnage year after year. The hawk would clean out the next, but come back day after day looking for another meal.
I have a pink one that flowers brightly first thing in the spring, then continues to flower all season long. It currently has about 10 blossoms on it. Normally the frost would have ended that but we have had an exceptionally warm September.
I have identified a magnolia growing on my walk. Firebroad helped me with it. Mind you we don't really severe winters here.
yes, I also saw that, but we are central Maine, and only 20-30 mins. from the ocean. The reds are showing now. then will be the fading yellows and browns. Already the roads are covered with leaves.
