Anyone interested in a Michigan and Ohio FHC get together? I know of an awesome pizza place around these parts that serves some REALLY GOOD pizza! ....and I'd love to meet the fellow Michigan FHC'ers! Wadda think?
It's this place here... hopefully everyone in Michigan has facebook: Roma Pizzeria & Restaurant - Southgate, Michigan - Pizza Place | Facebook
You might get a few Buckeyes or Hoosiers to make the journey. I was just up in Mich. 2 weeks ago for a few days on vacation so it doesn't look good for me.
gotta figure out what's a good day for everyone. and how much everyone can kick in for a jumbo pizza.
Okay... anyone got any good ideas for the date and time, obviously dinner time. Which is for me, 6:30 -7:00 PM Can't be on Oct 1, as I have a Doctor's appointment that day. After that I'm open till Nov 30, when I have another Doctor's appointment. I'm open to suggestions.
Just a thought Chuck but if you have something in a pizza place, I don't think it would be good to have it late. The reason is you would get only the very local guys and those who would have to drive a long distance might not find it so convenient. We have a tentative GTG set for our place next spring and that will probably be in mid or late April. We're trying to plan several things including felling, bucking, skidding, splitting, stacking, etc. It is not set is stone yet but we're hoping to have it and have lots of fun too. Yes, there will also be some good eating and perhaps some selected beverages to wash things down.
I see. I can't travel too far though. I don't own a car, would have to use Dad's truck. (long story there.) Why wanted to have one around here.
Graduated from SG Schaefer HS back in the day. Not a HS anymore. GREAT pizza place in Lincoln Park.......Vito's on Fort St. Used to be, not sure if it's still open. We always did delivery.
Used to be, not anymore. Vito sold that place and it became a yuppy type sports bar. Pizza now tastes like "mierda de perro"! What was Vito went back to Italy for a while, and came back, bought Roma's in Southgate. That now, is where you get the good Pizza. Something else too, Vito died about 1 or 2 years ago. Massive heart attack, after arguing with one of his delivery drivers; right in the store. Was terribly sad.
I know where it is, that's where the "Downriver Community Conference" place is at, where all the unemployed people go for $$$ when the jobs run out.
