Took a little apple pie moonshine out on the front deck and the dog & I watched for about an hour. Just as it was going to be total, clouds moved in.....

NH didn't have cloud cover for this celestial event for a change (I think I have missed at least 2 years of meteor showers and other natural shows because of cloud cover). So yes, I did go out and watch. Made getting up at 3:30 this morning a chore, but it was worth it.

And that would be why I waited until the stacks were under lock and key before posting pics of them sitting outside :p

2 tons of ThermaGlos and 2 tons of PTLs (the FSU's and Currans were left overs from last year). The PTLs came from Lowes in Bedford. Got them several weeks ago while they had their $19 delivery special.

Really? 50's? Dang, I'm moving to ME - it was low 40's by the time I got back inside. Was glad the pellet stove was there to warm up next to!

I finally have my stove up and running. I've got it sat on 75% for the wife. If she hears that occasional clink clink of the pellets dropping, she seems willing to stay off my case. The unfortunate part is my desk is very near the the stove. Might be on the the tablet more than the desk top unless I come up with a way to not be cooked while on the computer.
That was a nice experience to be able to see the blood moon. so often we have overcast for most of those events, but not this time!

I checked the price of heating oil today. It's 1.87 a gallon. At that rate the amount of oil equal to a ton of pellets would be $235. I bought 4 tons of Maine Woods last month at $269 a ton and they are still at that price. Looks like I'm going to have to order oil for the first time in three years. I love my pellet boiler but I love saving money even more.

Last Sunday's paper had 2 companies I've posted about before, one was at $1.92/gal for 300 Gal., and the other was $1.95.........both are up about .05cents since a month ago.

And these are in NY, land of high taxes/prices for everything.
