Well my load of logs are still waiting for my attention. Softball eats up my weekends completely. Yesterday I left the house just after 9 and didn't get home until 8pm. Today I'll be up at 6:30 and headed to my other daughter's game, and will not be home until 1pm.

My plan if I have enough energy is to move the one rack back onto the deck, and cut, split and stack for two hours. Then sit down and watch the recording of the Pat's game. Very slow start. Thankfully the weather has started to turn cooler. Making it a good time to start cutting.

Called my friend the supplier, and I can get another load of logs as soon as this load is off the ground. I'd really like to go through three or four loads to jump start my hoarding.

    boettg33,
remember your girls will remember your attendance at their games more than you think. just nibble away at the css. you'll get it done.
i have found memories of watching my kids and don't regret one minute. this afternoon, my daughter is going to help me hand split and cleanup some leftovers from last weeks cutting. she is 24 now. she says stacking is like playing jenga.

Ok we are officially in operation. Didn't get much done, but a little. Now that we have started, I see us getting an hour or two each night after work.

    Nice pics, boettg33!
As stated above, pick at as you can, and do family time every moment available, first!
Keep up the hard work, sir!

A little bit every night. The evening is cool. Not light out too late, work a little, get some exercise and your done. I just got in for doing exactly that.

That is my boy, 16. He often splits wood for his part time job, and he's a big help.

Rain is finally in the forecast for the next couple of days. The boy and I will try for two hours tonight. Fortunately my dad's truck will be here allowing us to get the split wood to the rack on the deck.

There is something about getting started. Once you start, it seems easier to stay with it.

The boy's boss has another load of logs ready to be dropped off. Fall softball has two more weeks, and then weekends are free until later November/December.

Good thing he is young with him having to bend like that while splitting!

He should try a set of car ramps under the wheels and a cinder block up front. Works wonders for the back. learned this many years ago, I think they build these splitters with much shorter people in mind. Hmm or may it cuts the cost of the finished product. Either way some one needs to come up with an adjustable height splitter.

Interesting. To raise it up to a better height to work from. Good idea.
