Remove the Cat Before Sweeping?

    Should I remove the cat from my Buck 80 before sweeping the pipes? Can't seem to find info on the subject.

    Depends on where the cat is located. If there's a chance of the brush hitting it get it out of the way. I'm not familiar with your stove but if you remove it you may also need to change out the gaskets that surround it unless it's contained in a metal frame or can.

    If its setup like my 91 then the Cat is right in the top. I too have been wondering about sweeping and filling that top area with soot/ash. I guess taking the cat out would give me room to clean up in there afterward.. Good Idea....
