Went to the doctor today. Not good news. After 3 months, the leg bone has not healed. It has partially healed but has a long ways to go. I was also told rather than Christmas to be healed, it may be next spring. Nuts.... Now the question might be, "Can I cut wood this winter?" If not, no problem. Remember, we're on the 3+ year plan! Just one more benefit of the plan.
Don't get discouraged Dennis, it could be worse. You can spend the winter dispersing your wisdom to all of our new members. Keep Smiling!
Dennis, Keep your head up. It is healing, albeit not a fast as you like but sometimes it just takes time. You don't have a "McDonalds" body. Remember, your like a fine wine, it takes time. Prayers to you my friend.
sorry to hear that , i truly hope your recovery doesn't take until spring ,try to stay positive we are all pulling for you.
Me too! Spring is way too long to wait. You should have seen the doctor's face when my wife told him I've set 2 tree stands already!
Sorry to hear this Dennis......Kick back this winter so it can heal thoroughly. Prayers will continue from here in Pa! Be well!
Dennis, so sorry to hear the latest prognosis. As the others have said, patience is the key as hard as that might be. We are all praying and hoping for the best for you. Stay positive and it will all work out. Your FHC family is here for you and your wonderful bride.
Sorry to hear this Dennis.. I hope and pray for a fast recovery. But this is even more reason to have some of us out for a GTG this Spring. While you can't do the work, many of us would be willing to do it for you. The bunch of us that show up will prob get you another 3-6 years ahead in a single day. And if I come, you know I am coming for at least two days. So plan on more being C/S/S..!!
I know one thing Dennis my body does not heal anywhere near like it used to, and I am a bit younger than you. A little exercise then some good rest and repeat. Eat your vegetables there sunny And drank some beer and makes strong bones I hear
Patience Dennis! Our bodies are slowing down, even if we aren't. Better to go slower than crash headlong into the inevitable...
Dennis, Good healing from good eating. Hope you have access to foods rich in antioxidants. Also protein from lean meats. Those really promote healing. It would be good if you can get your deer this year. Some of the healthiest meat available. I was once advised to think about what my grandparents ate. Wise observation.
