had you gone to the ER and had that done, you would have gone out with a big fat bill. While going to the ER is often the best thing to do, this was a bit different and you were able to take care of it by yourself. Next thing is to keep the infection out. Keep it really clean. a mix of half hydrogen peroxide and water works. Then put a cover like a band aid on it to keep the grime out.
yep when I had my two finger nails pulled off with a pair of pliers, soaked them in peroxide every couple days, so the bandages would not stick, let them get some air for a while and change the bandage, man they were nasty lookin I'll tell ya
I drilled a nail before...and sealed it back up with super glue. I'm not sure if that was a good or bad idea but it worked great.
The fingernails were busted all to pieces and the doctor said they would never grow back right they were busted up so bad. Big thick wooden door in the high school, the door was completely shut with my fingers in the hinge side of the door it was an accident but it was horseplay
you can use an Emery Board nail file to get the edges filed smooth so they don't catch up on something. Better to file the ragged nail than to trim it too close.
Chvymn99 I got 3 fingers in one shot a few years back. I got off work and stopped for gas. It gets better now, 3 young gals where standing in front of the gas station, I got out of my truck and slammed the door on on my fingers OUCH!! I looked at them and told em that I do this all the time not to worry.. I try very hard not to do that again!
Dang you guys! I haven't done this for decades, and wouldn't you know it... I did this today. Not as bad as the others, but no fun.
