Pop,pop, pop. "Oh no!" That's what I felt in my arm, and kind of what I said as I threw my last hunk of oak on the truck. Doc says it appears to be partial muscle and ligament tear. Not what I wanted to have happen this time of year. Guess I'll just listen to the doc's orders and hope for a quick recovery. To make things worse, I haven't even run a full tank through the new saw
Thanks ! It will all be good, just helps to whine a bit. I have plenty of wood for this year and plenty for next year, but it could put a damper on year three for a bit.
I will probably give that a shot, but I think my wife may make me wait a couple of weeks. I believe I have about 4 cords cut and waiting for the splitter
Yeah, I'm just goofy enough I'd be out there at least givin' it a shot. If you do, take it easy, so you don't mess up the other side.
Best of luck, hope you heal really fast. That happened to a friend of mine, took hima few months to recover but his was a complete tear.
I have empathy for you. Took a hard fall on my shoulder three winters ago and when I lift up my shoulder now there is a lot of crackle/popping noise; no pain, but rather weird sounding. From this experience I would suggest giving yourself plenty of time to heal. Good luck and speedy recovery!
I would hold off on splitting for at least a couple of weeks. You will stress the injured arm if you are using the other arm heavily.
pq, hang in there. Most of the time rest will do the trick. Keep moving so it doesn't freeze up. But, take it slow for awhile.
Take it easy, let it heal. But that's why the three year plan is so valuable, due to unseen circumstances like this.
I have two herniated disks I am dealing with. L4/L5 & L5/S1. Some mornings just getting my socks on is a challenge.
you don't want to make that partial tear, a full tear. Recovery just to the partial will be several weeks. Full tear, then to the operating room and 6 months recovery.

As someone who has tendonitis in my left and right shoulders; I feel your pain. That stuff smarts. Give it time to heal and take it easy.
Forget that new saw. It won't rust. Get the arm healed first but realize it won't happen quickly. Good luck and sorry to hear about this.
Thanks everyone, I plan on doing something a little different this time and pay attention to the Doc's instructions !!! Hopefully when I go back next week things will be headed in the right direction. Then, if el nino happens maybe I can enjoy some more cutting time this winter
