Lots of leaves turning color now and we see the difference every day. I forgot to get some of the witch hazel which is a bright yellow. Some trees are almost bare but most of the trees are still very green. But this is September so things will be changing quickly day by day.

First picture is a soft maple near our mailbox. Naturally these pictures don't do the trees justice but we know you'll understand.

Just to top of this soft maple turning. Leaf is bright red but doesn't look like it in the picture.

This soft maple is sad. The leaf is almost brown so perhaps the tree is dieing.

This popple is along the road leading to our place. The leaf is yellow but the picture looks more greenish than yellow.

Looks good Dennis! We're seeing some changing as well, just a little bit.

Dennis, do you have any drought conditions up your way?

No drought here this year. We've had a few short dry spells but I have yet to see even one yard turn brown. Many of the crops had too much rain.

Trees around here are starting to change despite temps in the 90s.

Nice, but those colors are very telling. I love the colors, but hate it after the leaves has fallen. So dead looking until the snow arrives. Only hints of changing colors here. Tops of the maples, or weak tress. Sumac has changed. So hot today, I didn't go outside until after dark.

I really like to see the trees bare for a while but then it surely is nice when the leaves return in the spring.

Have some change going on a bit around here but not sure if it is from the season or just so darn dry. I mowed on Friday and I think it had been 2 weeks. Probably could have went longer but since we were having a get together.....you know what I'm saying

We've been getting change as well. The honey locust in the front yard is dropping yellow leaves like snowfall. It's always the first to go bare and the last to leaf out in the spring.

Usually our red maples are turning mid to late Aug .
Have seen a few but not like normal for Sept.

Do you think it will peak again the last of September?
