    I don't know 'bout you guy's, but I just have a hard time throwing good wood on the burn pile.
    Theese little Beeche's have been on my (Mrs. fuelrod) list of things to do, they and a bunch of others are in her view of the mountains and need to go! Even with the tractor it's more work than it's worth for a wheelbarrow's worth of wood. Before & after limbing pics.

    I cut about everything. What doesn't make the "good" pile gets stacked for the campfires :thumbs:

    I'm with you, it all adds up. I'm a degenerate scrounger so most everything in my territory gets used. Doesn't always make for the prettiest stacks but I don't buy wood.

    Hmmm,... let's see here,... beech at 23 or 24 million BTU per cord - that would certainly go into our home heating stacks. Nice job falling & limbing BTW.

    It's good wood alright, but growing in the open, it get's awfull "branchy".
    I need to remind myself that the smaller stuff get's to skip step #2, the splitter!
