We've got a great owner. He didn't need to run it past the board and legal department.

    Thank god.

I used to attend extended conference calls, we were all in our home offices, we all could not help but belly laugh when someone forgot to mute and you could hear a toilet flush  :rofl: :rofl:

The first batch of jelly from last weekend did not set, so I made a new batch. I tried to cut some sugar out on the first round and I did not add enough extra pectin to it.

Today I did the full amount of sugar and added a little more pectin. They are all set now. Tomorrow will be crabapple jelly again.

Me and my neighbor picked about 5 gallons of grapes off my vines to press into juice later today. The grapes are pretty much done. The birds and squirrels can have the rest.

I am supposed to help my buddy next door rebuild his Hearthstone Tribute this evening. We are going to deep clean it and see if there are cobwebs and ash build up in the intake holes. It will be good to get into it and see what is going on.

.Just got off phone with a friend got some Black locust that needs cut because it is making her donkey sick... so I drove up and looked they are rare this far north! Just got back about 12 trees 30 inch diameter 60 plus tall. that's the good

    the bad no truck yet..

the good. buddy said I pay for gas can use his flat bed wrecker with winch anybody ever winches 12 logs onto a flat bed... Sounds red neck enough for me to try it! Will be careful for weight. Figure winch will tell me close to what they weigh...

Could you tow a trailer behind the truck? Disconnect and put a large amount of rounds of wood/weight from the branches onto the trailer. Then winch up the large logs onto the truck. ? Might get you a lot more wood. Even if you had to rent a u-haul trailer for the day. That is quality wood!

My wife has been spending the last couple Saturday's canning tomatoes. She now has 49 quart jars. And more tomatoes to go. She will be glad when they are all done!

I spent part of the day on the tractor using my new home made grapple my neighbor built for me. Picking up and moving recently cut branches, vines, roots, and even old dead stumps out of the tree line, etc. The clearing is coming along nicely. I have four huge piles that I will have to wait to burn when it rains.

How do you like being able to grab a cluster of branches... carry them to another small pile... open up and grab them too... and carry them all off? Back feels better already doesn't it? :D

    Any pics?

Like I told my wife when I came in when I was done today.

In just three hours with my tractor and grapple, I just completed the work of 20 men working for 8 hours by hand. Literally!

Amazing what an experienced operator and a good machine can get done!

    I love it!

My wife had a groupon for dinner out tonight. Kinda nice, had an italian dinner for two, cost us $8 plus tip. Groupon was $18 for $40. I'm not a groupon kinda guy but I sure do enjoy when she finds nices places to eat for short money.
