Ever wonder what the real story was about the 2 American pilots who got airborne during the Japanese attack?

I got busy yesterday and forgot to add that Sep 2,yesterday, was the anniversary of the signing of the formal surrender by Japan. Good timing

For those who haven't had a chance to stand on the deck of the USS Missouri and see the exact spot where that surrender was signed... it's quite a humbling experience. WWII ended with those sigs after so many died. The WWII museum in New Orleans estimates...

    Battle Deaths - 15,000,000

    Battle Wounded - 25,000,000

    Civilian Deaths - 45,000,000

The Missouri is maintained now by all volunteers, not the US guv... :picard:, and when you look at the size of that ship... it's mind boggling to think of the man hours it must take.
