Just getting ready to drive a gentleman down to Ottawa which is about 85 miles away. He is legally blind and has a medical appt. there. Hope to be home by 2 p.m. or so. Everyone have a good safe day.

Mom can't save you now. I used to do the same thing when I didn't want to go to school as a kid.

I may have found a local skid steer service to help with my backyard mess. He is literally 2 streets over and seemed legit with a nice hourly price. I said let's do it. The way I see it, a skid steer with a 6' bucket can do what my baby 'bota can do in about 1/4 of the time. I considered renting, but not knowing how to run one plus rental fees as compared to a hired operator and unit it's like $100 difference a day - plus I'd have to figure out how to transport the thing. $100/8 = $12.50 an hour.... nah I'd rather cut wood.

Let's hope this works out, should allow me to dress and seed the whole friggin' mess in prime time.

Got home @ 2 p.m.. Had a great day. Lad I took is virtually totally blind due to a genetic condition that runs in his family. He started to lose his vision @15 and had to cease working in 2001 because of it. His brother is in the same situation. Enjoyed the day as he is very upbeat about everything and is making the best of his situation. We talked about a wide range of topics, had a few laughs and both enjoyed the trip. Community Service transportation has it's rewards for all involved. Great way to pass the time when your retired, and the clients need and appreciate the service.

Good on you Rotti. I just started a new job last week, but I can't go into details too much. I will say that I interact daily with folks who do not have many possessions or family. A short conversation or a smile makes their day. Sometimes they just need someone to listen them for a few moments. It makes me realize how fortunate I am and to not to take things for granted. Little things mean a lot to them. I now wonder why the people who riddle their lives with drama and selfishness make themselves so miserable.

Ever since we moved here 5 years ago the AC system felt like it didn't have enough snot to keep up with the really hot days. Not surprising since the ductwork is located in the attic. There is a room between the garage and kitchen that we'd like to add AC to and had a laundry list of other heating cooling stuff we need to figure out before some future remodel projects.

Had a HVAC guy come out today and tell me my system is working fine but is hopelessly undersized and the attic ducts are just compounding that. Need to figure out what to do. My basement is used a lot, but the ceilings are low enough already...don't want to add a new trunkline to it.

Got some thinking (and penny saving) to do...

No, just a slight roughing up is all that is needed. Just privacy stuff. I said too much already.
